Little Known Black History Facts

So I meant to just spend the beginning of my day relaxing (Mental Health Mini Day), but somehow that turned into the whole day. That's definitely not cool since I feel so behind in all of my classes. But I got a lot done, such as laundry, which I have not done since before Winter Break (early Dec). I was able to clean up my place and just get my life in order.

So I don't remember how I came across this person's Tumblr website, but it hilarious. Check it out if you want a good laugh.

Oh and I added a "Reaction" feature at the bottom of each post. So if you think the post is interesting, funny, or cool. Just check it...I couldn't think of any other reactions, so I just stuck with the default...for now at least... (I'm not a default kind of person). Anyways...

Throw it In the Bag...

So unfortunately I am unable to just "throw it in the bag" because I'm living off loans right now. So I decided to create a new monthly budget...whew! That was a struggle, basically I'll be living on next to nothing. Besides rent, my second greatest expense is food of course. (I gotta eat and I [heart] food). But seriously having a monthly budget is essential, I don't know how people survive without one. I've had once since sophomore year of college. Sometimes I slack off, but for the most part I know how much money I have, can spend, and what I need to save. Which is why I was able to chillax this summer without a job. Sounds great right...it is. lol..

People need to get their financial situation in check, it's weird how every month some people complain about being broke and I'm thinking to myself what happened to that money from your check a couple weeks ago. Did you blow it all in one place and now you have no money? I just don't get it. Oh well...I will officially be broke for the next four years though. I pretty much can't have a job right now because if I didn't learn anything from orientation it's that you don't have time for a job (so I won't be having one this year). It's kind of weird though because I worked every year during college.

Oh well once I graduate from Opt school, I have the rest of my life to work. On another note, but still related I plan on retiring really EARLY, with lots and lots of cash and just picking up and moving to another country. I know that in order to make that happen, I have to have my finances in order so that is pretty much why I figured why not start now. So if you don't have a solid budget that you follow you need to make one ASAP. I'll attach a link to some budget templates. Of course you can always just google excel budget templates. But here it is,

Loans, Loans, Loans

This morning I was checking with my loan lenders to make sure they know I'm continuing school in the fall, so that I will have longer than the usual 6 months of deferment. So clearly my loans have been on my mind, because for me they go hand in hand with education. Luckily (and because I'm blessed), I had several scholarships that helped me at Emory, but they were not nearly enough to cover all of the expenses at Emory...I forgot how much tuition is at Emory, hmm lemme check...so tuition is $37,500, and all of the expenses are estimated to be $48,932 PER YEAR!!!! That is a lot of freaking money, so now that I have graduated, I am left with student loans. Not an obscene amount, but definitely enough to make my heart beat quicken when I saw the lump sum of the amount of loans I have after 4 years at Emory.

So now that I am about to embark upon my professional degree (woohoo!) I am now faced with EVEN MORE student loans. Except this time at the end of the next four years, I will have over $100,000 in loans, from ONE DEGREE!!! So basically, this picture describes how I feel right now...(click on it to enlarge it...it's an adaptation from the thinking man...and that is a bookbag with debt on it, while he holds the student loan paper in his hand...and what he is sitting on says education...ga-reat) Yeah yeah...I know that it will all pay off...eventually...and I know the importance of education. BUT GEESH...So I guess I will continue randomly paying the lottery (Remember GA lottery revenue goes towards the Hope Scholarship...so I'm just giving back...lol.) My loans are just an investment in my future...I'll keep saying that over and over, and hopefully I won't have any dreams where my student loans are chasing me relentlessly...Until Next Time...
