  1. ahem excuse me dr. vanessa (lol)....could you please share your thoughts on the consumption of aspartame? i just started working out regularly and my trainer has insisted that i drink massive (in my mind at least) amounts of water. so i'm drinking like 3 sports bottles (appx 78 ounces) of water a day and sometimes i add a little crystal light to it. some stuff i've read says it's ok, some that's it's not good for you. just wanted to get your take on it.

  3. ChasDizz,

That is an excellent question that you asked. In my quest for more conclusive evidence on any studies that have been done on aspartame, nothing was final or clear cut (as you have pointed out). It's also important to keep in mind that Nutrisweet is another name for aspartame, so it's probably in more things than we are aware of.

But what I will say, that I think it is OK to be consumed IN MODERATION. So if you are added it to every bottle of water you are drinking, not so good, but crystal light with a little water every now and then you should be A OK. (my unexpert opinion...lol).

I don't mean sound crazy with all of my conspiracy theories, but there has to be something different that we are doing (besides all of the technology) that is responsible for the increased incidence of tumors/cancers..No way am I blaming it on sweetners, but a lot of things combined together, boom there goes that
G1 checkpoint and you have a cell growing out of control.

P.S. You can refrain from calling me Doctor for another 2.5 years...but after then... lol.

P.P.S. Besides the fact that artificial sweeteners just taste extra nasty to me, I try and avoid them..lol.
